Plus One!

Sophie just had one more puppy, a black female! She should be done now....before when I thought she was done I felt 2 lumps, but wasn't sure if they were puppies or not. I guess they were!

Make that 9 puppies!

While I was uploading these pictures, Sophie decided to have a surprise puppy! Another light colored female! I think she's done now.... Sophie had a ROUGH delivery! She started having contractions at about noon and just had her last (I think) puppy. Altogether there were 10 puppies, but one was born dead
 :( it was another blonde female! I can't believe how many light colored females she had! And only one black puppy period! So since the last female was just born, she's not in these pictures. I will have pictures of her next time :)

THE PUPPIES ARE HERE!!!!!!!!!

I'll be posting pics soon, I need to clean the pool up! There are 8! 6 females, 2 males and only one puppy is black (a male). Crazy!

Status...

Still no puppies! I think Sophie was playing a cruel trick this morning (not really but still...) She woke us up about 3 am this morning and was shaking and whimpering. We let her outside to go pee then she climbed in my bed and started nesting like she was going to have them! Then she laid in my bed all morning breathing kinda funny and panting like they do when they are going into labor. She wouldn't eat any breakfast (which is also typical of labor), and her temp was dropped! But alas, still no puppies, and now she's not hibernating anymore. Her pregnancy sure has been different.....I won't post again until I have some puppies to show you! :)

The puppies are coming!

Sophie is in labor! Still no pushing yet, but I will post pictures as soon as all the puppies arrive!

Belly!

This will probably be the last belly picture before the puppies come! I took Sophie's temperature again today and now it is 98.6! Maybe puppies tonight?

Update

Well still no puppies....Sophie's temp dropped from 100.6 to 99.1 degrees this morning, but she isn't exhibiting any of the signs of impending labor. I will keep you posted if anything changes!

Gut Feeling

It's just a gut feeling, but I think we are going to have puppies within the next couple days. Sophie is with me practically 24/7 because I mainly work from home (we joke that we should have named her shadow. She follows me everywhere!), and she's been acting a little off. I'm just letting you know so that you can keep an eye on the blog in case you only check it once a week. As soon as Sophie starts going into labor I will let you know :)

For anyone interested....

I know, I have posted before about the way we make our dog food. However, Sophie's pregnancy and all of a sudden picky habits have made me come to some different conclusions. We no longer feed our dogs the same way, but still cook for them. If you are interested in learning about how we do it now, I have started a new blog that is going to chronicle our food adventures :) It's still a little rough and in the forming stages, but there are a few posts on it so far.
